Hey guys,
Just got back from vacation and trying to catch up on things. I'm debating whether or not I should purchase a box of A&G or concentrate on my current sets.
What do people think of the 2011 A&G? Maybe your suggestions and comments will help me decide. Let me know!

Personally, I love Allen & Ginter and buy a box every year. But I'm a hopelessly addicted collector. The smarter move is probably finishing off your sets.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a huge Ginter fan but I thought the cards looked nice this year. The minis and inserts are pretty interesting but the hits look pretty disappointing. I've picked up some hobby packs and a blaster so far. I'm probably kind of biased right now because I just opened the blaster and pulled a Bazooka mini.
ReplyDeleteBought a couple packs to check it out. Nice looking cards, but I'll pass - keep in mind I am not a non-sports guy, though. It looks like everyone is disappointed with their boxes, save a few out-liers.
ReplyDeleteLot of positive posts about Bowman Platinum, though. Good hits thus far, slick looking cards.
I'd chase the sets and let the dust settle!
Welcome back and have fun shopping!
I'm one of those outliers, I had a crazy good box, hitting a red Stan Lee out and a Silk Reyes card both numbered to 10. So I'm a little biased as well. I told myself I wasn't going to buy another hobby box, but I just got a great deal from one of my LCS's so I guess I'll do the gamble. I've read a bunch of posts on blogs and message boards and there have been whole cases without an autograph in it and boxes with three plain jersey cards. Luck of the draw I guess.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for your feedback. It really helps a lot to get opinions from fellow collectors on a product before deciding. I have a much better idea now on what to expect and I think I'll hold off on the Ginter for now and continue completing my sets. Thanks again!
